KSC Staff Members Recognized by FPRA Chapter

An account executive at KSC, Inc. is now the president of the Central West Coast Chapter (CWC) of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), the oldest public relations professional association in the world.

Another account executive at KSC, Inc. received the 2021 Ginny Duffey Troyer Award of Professionalism.

Melanie Reda, APR, CPRC, accepted the role of president during an installation banquet hosted by the chapter on August 18, 2021 at the GROVE restaurant in Lakewood Ranch. She will serve a one-year term from Sept. 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022, at which point she will take on the role of immediate past-president.

Melanie first joined FPRA in 2011 and has held numerous leadership roles for the organization. For the 2020-2021 year, she served as president-elect. During the 2019-2020 chapter year, she was sponsorship director. She served as membership director for the 2018-2019 year, during which the chapter received a state award for membership.

At the same banquet in which Melanie was installed, Account Executive Erin Hoffer, MA, APR, CPRC, received the 2021 Ginny Duffey Troyer Award of Professionalism from the FPRA chapter. The award is named in honor of former Central West Coast Chapter and FPRA president, Ginnie Duffey Troyer, APR, CPRC. It is presented annually to a member who displays the highest level of professionalism in the public relations field.

Erin also was installed as the chapter’s accreditation director for the second consecutive year. In that role, she assists chapter members who are working toward earning their credentials, Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC).

The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is a network of more than 100 public relations, marketing and communications professionals from Sarasota, Manatee and Desoto counties who come together for professional development and peer networking. The mission of the Florida Public Relations Association is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida.
